Its hand-spun cotton exterior showcases West Africa’s exquisite craftsmanship, as well as the brand's signature hand-dyed indigo, while the interior is entirely filled with kapok — a soft and silky natural fiber that is picked and shelled by hand.

WHY WE  LOVE  IT

The Tensira story originates in Africa, where in its namesake village in the Republic of Guinea.  It is a unique expression of centuries-old Guinean know-how of weaving and indigo dying and Nordic design. Inspired to design a collection of sustainable home essentials while providing opportunities for the West African artisans who create them, Hamidou Diallo and Tuulia Makinen Diallo founded Tensira, a brand where traditional African craftsmanship and modern minimalist design intersect.
