Standing monkey figurine first designed in 1907 by the famous Theodor Kaerner.
Unglazed "bisque" porcelain accentuates the sculptural qualities of the Nymphenburg animals particularly well. The rich details of the figures find subtle expression through the silky matte surface.
WHY WE LOVE IT
The mold making studio is the heart of the manufactory. This is where the plaster molds are made for the casting of figures as well as objects that cannot be thrown on the potter's wheel. Manufacturing requires a large degree of know-how and a high level of technical skill. Large and complex Nymphenburg designs must be cast as individual elements and then assembled, retouched and engraved to become the desired whole.
Handmade in Munich, Germany
Designer: Theodor Kaerner
The figurine is 5 inches tall, 2 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep.
