Porcelain beaker designed by Ted Muehling.
"Turtles are survivors of times past,” says Ted Muehling. The renowned American designer has been fascinated by these majestic creatures since childhood. So much so that he dedicated an entire collection to them: Tortoise - a series of vases in various sizes, two bowls, a bonbonniere and two different drinking vessels made of wafer-thin biscuit porcelain. Matte outside, glazed inside. These timeless handmade pieces are shaped with passion and perfection.
Note: the picture displays the vase no. 1964 and the 4" beaker from this collection.
WHY WE LOVE IT
Few other manufacturers offer as much opulence and a wealth of motifs in their decors as Nymphenburg. Nymphenburg works freehand, without stencils. It can take up to 15 years before an “apprentice” can fully execute their complex designs.
